KSC strengthens left side: Jakob comes from Augsburg

Karlsruher SC is filling the left defensive side with a new player. Kilian Jakob comes from FC Augsburg and signs for two seasons.

With this, KSC is closing a gap that arose after Dirk Carlson's transfer to FC Erzgebirge Aue. Jakob, who was loaned out from FC Augsburg to Türkgücü München last season, is expected to provide additional options for the left defensive side in Karlsruhe.

With Carlson's departure, a position on the left defensive side was suddenly open, which is particularly sensitive in squad planning: This side is often used to open up the first passing lines during build-up play, and at the same time, it is an area that opponents frequently target with wing attacks and switches of play. Jakob comes with a contract for two seasons

Jakob receives a contract at Karlsruher SC for the next two seasons. For the club, this duration mainly means planning security: The position is not only covered for individual matchdays, but structurally planned for two years – a period in which a hierarchy in the defensive unit can solidify and the coaching staff can work with clearer roles on this side again.

For Jakob, this step is also an opportunity to stabilize himself in a permanent environment and to play his way into the squad through consistent performance.

Loan last season, now permanent move to Karlsruhe

Last season, Jakob played on loan for Türkgücü München. Now comes the permanent move to Karlsruhe – a transfer that ends the previous loan arrangement and makes the player permanently available for KSC.
