Stups is looking for a home between the sun, moon, and Saturn
A small star adventure invites families to the PLANET KA Planetarium Karlsruhe on October 31, 2026. In the child-friendly story Stups, the little shooting star, a lost shooting star embarks on a search for a new home. This approximately 50-minute family experience combines imaginative storytelling with the fascinating world of the solar system.
A journey through the solar system
Stups has lost her home, the comet Rasefix. Now, she flies alone through space, searching for a place where she can stay. The sun is too hot, the moon turns her away, and on Saturn, Stups discovers thousands of shooting star siblings trapped in the planet's rings.
The story takes children from the age of four on a journey full of wonder, curiosity, and children's laughter. Familiar celestial bodies become the stage for a heartfelt story about belonging, courage, and the search for a safe home.
Age-appropriate wonder and learning
The program is aimed at children from the age of four and the entire family. The short duration of the event suits the attention span of younger children and creates an age-appropriate learning experience around stars, planets, comets, and the peculiarities of our solar system.
As a family event, Stups offers shared time in a special atmosphere: The planetarium dome opens a view into the cosmos while the story conveys emotional themes in a child-friendly manner. Thus, fun learning, imagination, and initial astronomical education combine to create a special family experience.
Well prepared for the planetarium
Entry begins about 30 minutes before the start. Families should arrive on time, as no late admission is possible after the start. Unused tickets will be forfeited without replacement. Due to limited seating, PLANET KA recommends prior online booking.
The performance starts at 1:30 PM and is expected to end around 2:20 PM. The venue is located at Alten Schlachthof 4 in Karlsruhe, near Otto-D.-Park. The stops Schloss Gottesaue, Tullastraße, and Durlacher Allee are within a short distance.
Conclusion: A glowing adventure for young explorers
Stups makes the cosmos tangible for young children and offers families a shared journey full of imagination, wonder, and learning fun. Those who want to provide their child with a loving, child-friendly encounter with stars and planets will experience a special family program under the planetarium dome at PLANET KA.
