Magical Reading Time with the Little Witch in Karlsruhe
When the little witch sets off on an exciting adventure with her raven Abraxas, a fantastical family experience full of children's laughter, wonder, and creative ideas begins for children aged five and up. In the Children's and Youth Library Karlsruhe, young guests listen to a beautiful story and then create their own craft project inspired by it.
A story full of courage, curiosity, and magic
The little witch doesn't want to keep learning for her witch exam. Together with Abraxas, she sets off and experiences a lot. Along the way, she discovers that a little bit of magic, friendship, and courage can make everyday life special.
The reading time presents literature in a child-friendly and age-appropriate manner. Listening, conjuring images in their heads, and developing their own thoughts about the story supports language development and creates a valuable learning experience for children.
Discovering creativity through crafting
After the reading, it gets practical: the children craft something related to the theme of the story. They can experiment with their own ideas, choose colors, and let their imagination run wild. Creative crafting strengthens fine motor skills, concentration, and self-efficacy.
Crafting together also creates space for interaction. Children experience how a story transforms into their own work while families enjoy valuable time together in a calm and inspiring environment.
Child-friendly family experience at the library
The event is aimed at children aged five and up and combines reading promotion with playful creativity. The manageable duration of one hour provides a suitable framework for young listeners. The City Library Karlsruhe thus creates a cultural offering that combines learning fun, imagination, and community.
The Children's and Youth Library in the Prinz-Max-Palais offers a protected indoor space for the reading and crafting event. Participation is free of charge. Pre-registration at 0721 / 133-4262 is required.
