Jazz, children's laughter, and plenty of fun activities in Karlsruhe
When ducks swing, horses rock, and crocodiles appear in six-eight time, Sunday morning becomes a special family experience: At Jazz & More for Kids, children from 4 years old discover the vibrant world of jazz together with parents and grandparents.
Music that gets you moving
Singing, snapping, clapping, rattling, listening, moving, and dancing: The audience experiences a concert that appeals to all the senses. The children are not just listeners; they are actively involved in the musical events. This creates joy, wonder, and a strong sense of community.
Discovering instruments and rhythm playfully
With saxophone, piano, double bass, and drums, the musicians show how differently sounds can affect us. In addition to the concert enjoyment, the children receive age-appropriate learning experiences around instruments, improvisation, intervals, off-beat, triplets, and rondo. Musical fundamentals are conveyed in a child-friendly, humorous, and immediate way.
Jazz for multiple generations
The family concert is aimed at at least three generations. Familiar musical ideas are rediscovered, improvised, and connected with influences from different cultures. This creates an open, curious family experience that supports child development, creativity, and shared listening.
Playful joy on stage
The performers are Peter Lehel on saxophone, Peter Schindler on piano, Rosanna Zacharias on double bass, and Markus Faller on drums. Together, they combine musical quality with humor, movement, and direct contact with the audience. The event creates a safe, child-friendly environment where children can become curious and try out their own forms of expression.
Conclusion: A concert to participate in and marvel at
Jazz & More for Kids offers families shared time full of rhythm, children's laughter, and fun learning. Those who want to not only hear music but experience it with their whole body will find a varied family program for young and old jazz fans at the Sandkorn Theater & More.
