A Constellation for Flappi: Sparkling Family Adventure Under the Planetarium Dome
When the little bat Flappi discovers the glowing points in the sky at night, a whimsical family experience begins at the PLANET KA Planetarium Karlsruhe for children from 4 years old. The approximately one-hour performance combines a heartwarming story with first insights into stars, constellations, and the moon.
A Curious Bat Discovers the Night Sky
Flappi is different from most bats: she sleeps upright instead of hanging upside down and asks many questions. As she observes the supposed fireflies in the sky, she learns from Skybat, the sky bat, that they are stars. Together, Flappi sets off in search of a new constellation for bats.
Child-Friendly Learning Fun with Imagination
The story invites children to look at the night sky with new eyes. Stars, constellations, and the moon are presented in an age-appropriate and imaginative way. The program fosters curiosity, imagination, and the important experience that being different can be a special strength. The plea for individuality and imagination gives families shared time filled with wonder, children's laughter, and inspiring conversation starters.
A Special Experience in the Planetarium Dome
Under the dome of PLANET KA, an impressive atmosphere is created where the boundaries between story and starry sky blur. Public performances in the planetarium consist of a live-moderated part about the current night sky and the announced planetarium film. The overall performance usually lasts about 60 to 70 minutes.
Important Notes for Families
The event is suitable for children from 4 years old and the entire family. Doors open about 30 minutes before the performance starts. For technical and organizational reasons, re-entry is not possible after the performance begins; please plan your arrival in time. Due to limited seating, PLANET KA recommends early online booking.
The planetarium is located at the Old Slaughterhouse in Karlsruhe. The Schloss Gottesaue stop is about 250 meters away, and the Tullastraße/Durlacher Allee stop is a little over 300 meters away.
