Genova & Dimitrov: World-class Piano in Velte Hall
On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the internationally acclaimed piano duo Genova & Dimitrov will perform at the Velte Hall of the University of Music Karlsruhe. At 11 a.m., pianistic precision, musical energy, and chamber music intimacy come together.
Two Pianos, an Extraordinary Sound
As the first piano chords begin, that special live atmosphere arises, for which Genova & Dimitrov are valued worldwide. The duo's four-hand synchronization connects rhythmic clarity with great tonal agility. Each phrase seems jointly crafted, each dynamic increase follows a precise musical breath.
Internationally Awarded Piano Duo
Since their joint debut in late 1995, Genova & Dimitrov have become among the most sought-after piano duos in the international concert scene. Within two years, they won the four major international piano duo competitions in Munich, Miami, Tokyo, and Caltanissetta. Their performances have taken them to renowned concert stages as well as concerts with famous orchestras and conductors.
Repertoire Between Debussy and Rachmaninoff
The duo represents a diverse repertoire and an intensive engagement with music for two pianos. Among their notable recordings are Claude Debussy's complete works for piano duo, all works by Sergei Rachmaninoff for piano duo, and compositions by Amy Beach and Carl Reinecke. Numerous world première recordings and eleven concerts with orchestras shape their discography.
Musical Expertise and Stage Presence
Their longtime mentor Vladimir Krainev accompanied the artists at the University of Music Hannover, where they later took over the management of the piano duo class. Today, Genova & Dimitrov conduct masterclasses worldwide, participate in international radio and television productions, and serve as jurors in major competitions. This experience is reflected in a stage performance that combines technical sovereignty with immediate expressiveness.
Outstanding Recordings, Intense Concert Experiences
The more than 20 released CDs by the duo have been published, among others, by OehmsClassics, Naxos, cpo, and Gega New. For their work, Genova & Dimitrov received the ECHO KLASSIK and the French CHOC de Classica. Several productions have been nominated for the German Record Critics' Award and the OPUS KLASSIK. International trade media have praised their recordings as phenomenal, revolutionary, and explosively musical.
